Clinical Advisory Team (CAT)
The Clinical Advisory Team is a part of the Wellbeing Services (Counselling, Welfare, Disability and Mental Health & Wellbeing). The CAT provides first responder and crisis support for students and for academic and professional staff supporting students who are experiencing distress and difficult situations.
Our services include:
- Assisting staff in recognising and managing complex student behaviours, challenging situations, or responding to a crisis or critical incident.
- Providing first responder support to students with safety concerns.
- Assessing risk, advising on student wellbeing, providing case management and referrals to internal/external support services.
- Working collaboratively with staff to determine reasonable steps and actions to support students’ wellbeing and meet their academic goals.
Our Team
Our team is a multidisciplinary team consisting of Mental Health Advisors and allied health staff from across the Wellbeing Services. The team are skilled and professionally qualified individuals who can support students with complex mental health needs.

Staff can make a referral to the Clinical Advisory Team by completing this online form. Our inbox is monitored Monday-Friday 9am to 4:30pm. The CAT service is for staff ONLY to make referrals.
