Social media

The University uses a number of social media channels to communicate to staff and students.

Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are used to convey messages to students, while Yammer is used for staff.

Yammer

Yammer (opens in a new window) is the University's enterprise communication network for staff. Yammer works much like Facebook, as you can post directly to a news feed or create groups that staff can join and communicate with directly.

Joining Yammer is easy. Simply go to the Yammer website (opens in a new window), enter your work email address and follow the prompts to create your profile.

You can find out more about Yammer on the Western Sydney University Yammer Network webpage.

Facebook and Instagram

The audiences for posts made on the Official Western Sydney University Facebook page and Official Western Sydney University Instagram pages are prospective students and current students of the University and must therefore be relevant to these groups. Any posts made must adhere to Western Sydney University Social Media Guidelines (opens in a new window).

These channels are managed by the Digital and Social Media Manager, Nicole Swanson (opens in a new window).

You can submit a Facebook or Instagram request by completing the Social Media Post Request Form (opens in a new window).

Twitter

The audiences for Twitter are prospective students and current students of the University and must therefore be relevant to these groups. Any posts made on the Official Western Sydney University Twitter feed (opens in a new window) must adhere to Western Sydney University Social Media Guidelines (opens in a new window).

Twitter posts are restricted to 140 characters and can include a website for more information.

This channel is managed by the Digital and Social Media Manager, Nicole Swanson (opens in a new window).

You can submit a Twitter request by completing the Social Media Post Request Form (opens in a new window).
