Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pathways Program

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pathway Program at Western Sydney University is aimed at increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation in undergraduate programs across all areas of study.

Whether you are currently working, unemployed, studying at TAFE or coming straight from high school, as a prospective student you are not required to have completed the HSC or any other degrees to apply to study at Western via the program.

The Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education

The Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education was established to provide support and encouragement for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Located on each campus Badanami provides dedicated study and support facilities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

The services provided through Badanami include:

  • Scholarships are not only for academically gifted students or students who have financial hardship. Western Sydney University has a range of scholarships available for new and continuing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
     
  • Tutoring for Success enables eligible Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to receive free individual or group tuition with qualified tutors in specific subject areas, and in relation to academic skills such as essay writing, study techniques and research skills.
  • Learning Support is available to all Western students to help them develop various study strategies and improve academic performance.
  • Student Services & Facilities including tutorial assistance, assistance in study and learning skills, access to computers, study space, kitchen area and printing facilities.
