Teaching Performance Assessment
The Teacher Performance Assessment (TPA) is a requirement for all final placements. It allows students to showcase their complete competency in the classroom and illustrate their ability to utilise evidence of student learning during their Professional Experience.
Details about the TPA which must be completed by the pre-service teacher after their final school professional experience placement can be found here.

Professional Experience - Attendance Register
The supervising teacher is responsible for signing and dating the attendance register at the conclusion of each week. It is the pre-service teacher's responsibility to submit the attendance register, along with other report documentation, at the end of the professional experience. Interim Report for Primary and Secondary - TEAC7106 (K to 6), TEAC7154 (Professional Experience 1), and TEAC7155 (Professional Experience 2)
Interim reports must be completed by the end of Week 3. A copy of the Final Report will be sent to your Schools Professional Experience Coordinator during the final week of the pre-service teacher's placement.
After completing the interim report, please share a copy with the Pre-service Teacher, who is required to submit it to their University Advisor. You can access the interim report here.
Waiver of Appendix B – NESA Professional Experience Policy- Information for Schools
With an approved Application for a Waiver of Appendix B of the NESA Professional Experience Policy conditionally accredited Initial Teacher Education students, who meet the requirements of the waiver, can continue their employment including receiving payment/wages while undertaking their final placement in a school where they are employed.
Key Details:
- An approved application allows Pre-service teacher to continue their employment, including receiving payment, during their final placement in your school.
- This waiver is designed to address disruptions experienced by schools and supports curriculum continuity.
Conditions for Applying:
- The pre-service teacher has successfully completed a satisfactory placement in at least one other school before their current location, meeting the requirement of placement in two schools.
- Support from the Principal or delegate of your school for retaining the pre-service teacher in the interest of curriculum continuity.
- Assurance from the placement school to maintain independent and impartial assessment principles and practices for the pre-service teacher on their placement.
- Pre-service teachers are expected to meet all the requirements of their Teaching Performance Assessment in the school where they are employed.

Resources available for Supervising Teachers
Supervising teachers play a crucial role in supporting new educators as they navigate the early stages of their teaching careers. A key part of this role involves guiding pre-service teachers in applying new strategies in the classroom, using the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers as a framework.
