Security levels and access regimes can be set up within TRIM to suit the needs of your unit. Security levels can also be placed on individual files or documents by users to restrict access if necessary. Issues you should consider in regards to access by other Western Sydney University staff members include:

  • Are there other business units or individuals that need shared access to your records including the ability to add documents to your files?
  • Are there other business units or individuals that need read-only access to your files?
  • If your records contain personal information are there any legitimate reasons for anyone else to have access, read-only or otherwise?
  • Are there any records you create that should be generally available across the whole University?
  • Do you need security levels within your business unit for particular records?
