Content Manager (TRIM)
Content Manager (TRIM) is Western Sydney University’s enterprise document and records management system (EDRMS), used to manage both physical and digital information assets. It enables the compliant capture, management, storage, and secure disposal of business information in line with governance and regulatory requirements. The system has been in use since 2004 and has also been known as TRIM, HPE TRIM, and TRIM Context.
Content Manager integrates with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project, supporting efficient record capture and management within business units. It is also accessible via a secure web interface.
While SharePoint, shared drives, and OneDrive support collaboration and document storage, they do not provide consistent controls for record classification, retention, disposal, or auditability. Content Manager is a dedicated records management system that delivers structured governance and compliance, and is the University’s endorsed system of record.
