Converting Fractions to Percentages
To convert a fraction to a percentage we multiply the fraction by 100% and reduce it to its lowest terms.
For example:
$$ \begin{align*} \frac34 &= \frac34 \times 100\% \cr &= 75\% \end{align*} $$
$$ \begin{align*} \frac58 &= \frac58 \times 100\% \cr &= 62\frac12\% \end{align*} $$
