HDR Applicants: Find a Supervisor

One of the first steps toward applying for a Master of Research (MRes), a Master of Philosophy (MPhil), a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), or other research degree, is to find an appropriate supervisor and discuss your proposed research project with them.

To find an HCA HDR supervisor who matches your research interests, you can either:

  • search the University’s Staff Profiles Directory by keyword;
  • look through the School's Academic Staff directory;
  • or submit your draft research proposal and curriculum vitae (detailing full educational qualifications) for initial School assessment using the portal below.

Once a potential supervisor has been identified, you should send them an email introducing yourself, describing your previous degrees and experience, outlining your area of interest, and providing a short explanation about why you would like to work with them on a research project. Please do not contact multiple potential supervisors at the same time.
