Value

  • $ 10,000 per year for one year*
    *full-time, or part-time equivalent

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Citizenship:

  • hold one of the Permanent Humanitarian visas listed under the Refugee Scholarships section on the Humanitarian Visa Classes page.

Enrolment:

  • continuing student who has completed a minimum of 160 credit points in a Bachelor of Laws

Program/s:

  • any undergraduate degree in the School of Law

Additional:

  • demonstrate financial or other hardship as assessed by the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).
  • in addition to the funds, the recipient will have the opportunity to undertake a four-week paid clerkship at Hall & Wilcox law firm.

William Orule

William Orule worked with our firm, Hall & Wilcox Lawyers, while studying for his law degree. He was a well-loved friend and colleague to many of our people. Rhett Slocombe, partner, moved William's admission as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of NSW.

We seek to provide this scholarship to continue William's legacy. In addition to the monetary sum, the recipient will have an opportunity to undertake a four-week paid clerkship at our firm.

Application and Selection Process

Applications are to be submitted through the Universities Admissions Centre. Shortlisted applicants, as determined by the UAC Equity Ranking, may be required to make a written submission in support of their application.

  • Recipients must remain enrolled at Western.
  • Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 4.
