Jennie Gordon Smith
"I decided to give money to establish an endowed grant to nursing students on placement because, at the time, such students were required to work for nothing. It was clearly a situation that was removing keen students from the future nursing workforce. My mother and grandmother both trained as nurses back when they were completely supported with board and lodging during their training: from their stories I knew what hard work it was. I am privileged to be in a position to make a gift to help students on placement, and I wish also for my gift to remember my grandmother, Jennie Gordon Smith, who was a nurse among many other activities in her full life."
