The General Practice Students Network (GPSN) is run by students interested in general practice as a specialty, for students with the same interest, facilitated by the General Practice Registrars Australia (GPRA) head office to create programs and resources to support the next generation of Australia's general practitioners. There are active GPSN clubs in medical schools at all
21 university campuses across Australia.
GPSN offers programs focused on exposing medical students to the inspiring diversity of a career in general practice. Activities include fun clinical skill sessions, social events, seminars and conferences, peer support and networking opportunities.
GPSN Western Sydney University is about inspiring new perspectives and new insights to foster interest in General Practice. We aim to showcase the diversity intrinsic to general practice that breaks down the preconceptions that follow the speciality. We play a pivotal role in providing opportunities for students to expand their purview and get involved.
You don’t need to be someone who only wants to become a GP (although we think it's an awesome career choice), but you do need to have a passion for appreciating and explaining General Practice, a passion for community, and a passion for well-being.
