Welcome to the Medical Education Unit.
The Medical Education Unit (MEU) was founded in 2005 with Professor Ian Wilson as its inaugural Director and was followed by Professor Wendy Hu who has played an integral role in the transition of medical school curriculum to the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
The Medical Education Unit provides guidance and faculty development, within the School of Medicine, to ensure that curriculum delivery, assessment and evaluation are informed by current best practice in Medical Education. The Medical Education team consists of dedicated medical educators from a diverse range of clinical and non-clinical backgrounds. Our team coordinates, teaches and provides student support and pastoral care at all levels of the 5-year medical program.
We make every effort to promote an optimal educational environment for our students through early clinical exposure and small group problem-based learning. We carry out educational research and translate our research and innovation to inform and transform our practice to deliver a research-informed learning experience and to establish a national and international reputation in the field of Medical Education
