Maternal and Child Health
The health of mothers and children are a key focus for researchers at the School of Medicine. With the expertise of colleagues from the School of Nursing and Midwifery - Western Sydney University is well placed to investigate health issues of relevance to the growing communities across Western Sydney.
Teams in the School of Medicine have been awarded grants from the National Health and Medical Research Council to investigate clinical challenges including pre-eclampsia (hypertension in pregnancy), gestational diabetes and otitis media in Aboriginal children.
