What's up with those cages near the Hawkesbury Campus?

When we were constructing the EucFACE experiment in the forest at Hawkesbury, people often asked us if were building a hardware store, or a supermarket, or some other substantial building in the middle of the forest. Because of the permanence of the cranes that we use to take researchers and equipment to the top of the trees, it's fair that sometimes people wonder if we are still building something. Well, are we? Maybe we are...
