The Institute for Culture and Society is excited to announce that Collecting, Ordering, Governing: Anthropology, Museums, and Liberal Government authored by Tony Bennett, Fiona Cameron, Nélia Dias, Ben Dibley, Rodney Harrison, Ira Jacknis and Conal McCarthy has been published by Duke University Press. We will celebrate with a special event at the Australian Museum exploring the relationships between anthropological fieldwork, museum collecting and social governance in the early 20th century, and their impact on the conception and agency of different groups in society. Bookings essential. Admission includes a welcome drink accompanied by a cheese and fruit platter.
