Network Rail Consulting and Peter Koning
Network Rail Consulting (NRC) is a subsidiary of Network Rail, the owner and operator of Britain's rail infrastructure network, one of the world's most intensively used rail networks. Our network is the fifth busiest rail network in the world and the second busiest in Europe.
NRC offers consulting services in Northern America, The Middle East & Australia, and provides a range of rail-related services including Advisory, Strategic Planning, Program Management, Systems Integration, Asset Management & Maintenance, and Rail Operations support. In Australia, we have offices located in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
We offer the Peter Koning (in recognition of our first Regional Director who helped establish the company in Australia in 2013) scholarship to prospective or current undergraduate students of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent who are currently studying or wishing to study an Engineering degree at the University of Western Sydney. The scholarship is open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students studying any of the following engineering degrees: Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronic.
The scholarship aims to assist in increasing the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engineering students in the Railway Industry.
Work placements and mentoring opportunities will also be offered to the successful candidate.

Applications are to be submitted through the Western Sydney University scholarship form.
Applicants must provide a statement supporting their application indicating how they believe receiving the scholarship will assist them with their studies and future careers. This statement should give a sufficient explanation of the applicant's background and current circumstances to enable the University to judge their eligibility, need, and merit.
Applicants meeting the eligibility criteria will be invited to submit a secondary statement demonstrating their interest in pursuing a career in rail.
