Students of year six at St John the Evangelist Primary School Campbelltown are currently exhibiting artwork at the Margot Hardy Gallery on the Bankstown campus of the University of Western Sydney.

The exhibition is titled ‘Déjà vu’ and was inspired by masterpieces of times past.

“For this exhibition the students have chosen impressionist artwork as their inspiration to create new work of their own,’ says Robyn Ryan, Visual Arts Teacher.

“Many of these students have never painted on such a scale before, nor without a paintbrush.”

Students and their families attended the official opening of the exhibition on Thursday 5 September by Mr Ken Bryant, Head of Religious Education and Learning Services, Wollongong Catholic Education Office.

The exhibition will be open until Monday 30 September.
