Flipped Classrooms
Flip for learning - A practical guide to 'flipped classrooms'
This comprehensive guide (PDF, 709.07 KB) has been designed to support academic staff with flipped classroom approaches. This pedagogical approach cultivates student engagement and empowers students to be active learners. This design;
- engages students with content learning prior to attending classes
- refocuses face-to-face time to active learning activities that are designed to fill in knowledge gaps and contextualise knowledge through application, analysis, and planning and problem solving.
- includes post class activities for clarification, consolidation and ‘joining the dots’ of learning elements together.
To further enhance this resource, a self and peer review checklist has been developed and is currently undergoing evaluation by academic peers. Once this has been finalised, we will communicate the availability of the Flipped Classrooms self and peer resource to all staff.
