Mental Health and Wellbeing Month
Each October, Western Sydney University proudly participates in Mental Health and Wellbeing Month—a national campaign designed to inspire us all to pause, reflect, and nurture our mental health while supporting those around us.
This year, the theme is “Taking Steps on Your Wellbeing Journey”, encouraging us to recognise and celebrate every step—big or small—toward better mental health. It’s a reminder that wellbeing isn’t a final destination, but an ongoing journey where even the smallest action, like taking a break or reaching out for help, can make a difference.
At Western, the month comes to life with a variety of activities designed to help students and staff recharge, connect, and learn. Highlights include
- Pet Therapy Session – spend time with furry friends to boost your mood and lower stress.
October 9th, 10am-11am at Campbelltown Campus - Wellbeing Pop-Up – discover resources, grab healthy snacks, and explore practical self-care tools.
October 14th, 12pm-2pm at Parramatta South Campus - Trivia Session – test your knowledge and have a laugh with friends.
October 23rd, 1pm-2pm at Kingswood Campus - Parramatta River Walk – step outside, breathe fresh air, and move mindfully in nature.
October 28th, 12pm-1pm at Parramatta South Campus
We hope to see you throughout the month!
Why It Matters
