Liverpool campus Provost

A message from Professor Brian Stout, Provost, Liverpool campus

Welcome to Ngara Ngura Campus of Western Sydney University in Liverpool. The name means place of listening and learning and the University acknowledges and pays respect the traditional owners of Liverpool as the Darug, Gandangara and Tharawal people.

The Liverpool campus opened in 2018 and is at the heart of one of the most exciting and growing areas of Western Sydney. The campus’s central location makes it easy to access by all forms of public transport and readily accessible to the shops, restaurants and entertainment facilities of central Liverpool.

The campus is designed with student learning at its centre. The Nursing facilities are state-of-the-art, facilitating outstanding professional learning. The learning studios, utilised both by the Schools of Nursing and Social Sciences allow the delivery of both face-to-face and online learning, giving high quality and flexible learning experiences to the students. The rest of the building is also designed with students in mind with full library and student services and spaces available for both formal and informal learning.

My role as Provost is to support the experience of staff and students and to represent the university in the region. I am supported by a campus committee made up of professional and academic staff from all the areas represented at Liverpool, as well as student representatives. The committee organises a series of events and is always keen to hear from both students and staff with suggestions on how we can make your campus a great place to work and to study.

Campus Provost Grants are open to students, staff, or organized groups. If you have any ideas for a more vibrant and engaging campus for students and staff which might include (and is not limited to) cultural, social, educational and recreational events, publications and exhibitions, please submit them to the Liverpool Campus Provost Committee.
