Subject Progression Rule

If you fail a non-elective subject (or its equivalent) twice you will be placed on Conditional Enrolment and remain on Conditional Enrolment until you pass that subject (or its equivalent).

The Subject Progression Rule carries across all programs, for example if you transfer to another program and the subject is a non-elective subject for that new program, you will remain on Conditional Enrolment until you pass the subject.

You will be Excluded where you have:

1. Failed the same or equivalent non-elective subject three times, or
2. Been awarded a Practicum fail for the subject (See Assessment Policy).

If you return from a period of Exclusion and fail the same subject (or its equivalent) for a fourth time, you will be excluded for a further 12 months and will not be permitted to re-enrol for any program that includes this non-elective subject (or its equivalent).

A Non-elective subject refers to any subject that is mandatory for a student to complete in order to graduate from their program. This includes any core subjects as well as any mandatory subjects in any field of study.

Progression Show Cause

If you have been identified for Conditional Enrolment or Exclusion from study, you will be notified in MySR  Your first step after receiving notification will be to decide if you want to submit a Show Cause application as to why you should not be placed on Conditional Enrolment or Excluded.
