Nomination Form Instructions

Nominations should be submitted through the online nomination form. Once a nomination form is submitted, the nominee will be asked to complete a separate form providing additional information.

Nomination Form Requirements

Individuals submitting a nomination form will be asked to provide the following about themself:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Place of work and/or position title
  • Relationship to the nominee

Individuals submitting a nomination form will be asked to provide the following about the nominee:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Approximate age (optional, but recommended for nominations for the Young Woman of Western Sydney Award)
  • Award category (multiple selections allowed)
  • Statement describing why the nominee is worthy of this acknowledgment*

Your nominee will be asked to complete a form providing additional information after you have submitted your nomination.

You will also have the opportunity to provide any other supporting documentation relevant to the nomination.

Nominee Form Requirements

Nominees will be asked to provide the following:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Date of Birth
  • Whether they are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent
  • What Western Sydney suburb they reside in
  • What Western Sydney suburb they work in
  • Current role/job title
  • Organisation of current role/job title
  • Statement describing why they are worthy of this acknowledgement*
  • Short bio, describing themselves and their notable achievements (approximately 150 words)
  • Photo

There will also be the opportunity to provide any other supporting documentation relevant to the nomination.

Supporting Documentation

Nominators and nominees will both be given the opportunity to provide supporting documentation for their nomination. This documentation can include any evidence you believe corroborates the information you have provided regarding contributions to the Western Sydney region, impact and excellence. It may include, but is not limited to:

  • A copy of the nominee's current resume
  • Media articles
  • Links to web pages or online articles
  • Certificates or other official acknowledgements

Any supporting documentation must be formatted and submitted as a single file.

Supporting documentation is not a requirement but is encouraged.

Please refer to the below guidelines related to each award category:

Woman of Western Sydney (Arts)

Women nominated for this award must have made significant contributions to the Western Sydney region through leadership in the Arts sector.

Nominators will be asked to describe the nature of the nominee’s leadership position within the Arts sector, and how their contributions have made a demonstrable impact on the sector and the people of the Western Sydney region.

Woman of Western Sydney (Community)

Women nominated for this award must be leaders within community(ies) of Western Sydney.

Nominators will be asked to describe how their continuous engagement with their community(ies) has gone above and beyond their professional role to benefit the people of the region, and for the betterment of their community(ies).

Woman of Western Sydney (Indigenous Leadership)

Women nominated for this award must be Indigenous leaders who have made significant contributions to the Indigenous community(ies) of the Western Sydney region and beyond.

Nominators will be asked to describe the nominee’s contributions to the region and how they have demonstrated advocacy for the fundamental principles of social justice and self-determination.

Woman of Western Sydney (Social Enterprise)

Women nominated for this award must have made significant contributions to the Western Sydney region through leadership in business endeavours that maximise social impact.

Nominators will be asked to describe the nature of the nominee’s role in a Western Sydney-based social enterprise (an organisation with stated social objectives), and how their contribution to the development of the social enterprise has, in turn, impacted the Western Sydney region.

Young Woman of Western Sydney

Women nominated for this award must be between the ages of 18-28 as of the nomination closing date and have made significant contributions to the communities of the Western Sydney region.

Nominators will be asked to describe the nominee’s engagement in communities of Western Sydney, and in unpaid work that is for the benefit of the people of the Western Sydney region, and for the betterment of their community(ies).

The Jennifer Westacott AO Woman of Western Sydney Award

Women nominated for this award must be exceptional leaders who have made significant contributions to the Greater Western Sydney business sector.

Nominators will be asked to describe how the nominee’s impact has gone above and beyond their organisational role, and to outline their significant contributions to the economic landscape of the Western Sydney region through their leadership and/or to policy development and reform, cross-sector collaboration, equity, and business.

The nomination form must be completed by 11:59 pm Sunday, 11 February 2024.

Note: Nominations will be accepted until the closing date, nominees will be provided additional time to finalise their submission.

Winners will be publicly announced at the Western Sydney University International Women’s Day Celebration on Friday, 8 March 2024.
