WSU CIB Student Chapter - Annual General Meeting 2024/2025

The Annual General Meeting and Elections of the Western Sydney University CIB Student Chapter was held on 13 November 2024 at the Kingswood Campus of Western Sydney University to establish the executive committee for 2024/25.

The newly elected committee for 2024/25 includes Mathusha Francis as President, Shashini Jayakodi as Vice-President, Namal Anuradha Gamage as Secretary, and Abhishek KC as Treasurer. Project Leads include Iresha Gamage for Events, Fredrick Ahenkora Boamah for Promotions, Vajira Jayasundara for Membership, Mona Jahangir Zadeh for Special Projects, and Kushani Semasinghe for Member Engagement. The election of the new committee members was overseen by Dr Samudaya Nanayakkara, staff advisor for the WSU CIB Student Chapter.

Professor Srinath Perera, Director of the Centre for Smart Modern Construction (c4SMC) and the Senior Staff Advisor for the WSU CIB Student Chapter, delivered an inspiring address on the CIB and the inception and significance of the chapter. Outgoing President Prasad Perera addressed the attendees, sharing reflections and marking the conclusion of his tenure. Outgoing Vice-President Mathusha Francis also presented highlights of the chapter's accomplishments over the past year.

Staff members Dr Marini Samaratunga and Dr Thilini Weerasuriya were also present for the occasion. The event was hosted by Kushani Semasinghe, ensuring its smooth proceedings while Ferose Sachindra Hewavitharana, the outgoing secretary delivered the vote of thanks. The School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment (SoEDBE) provided invaluable support, with special thanks to Felicity Koulouris, HDR Coordinator – SoEDBE.
