To be a world-leading industry-focused construction research and training centre utilising concepts and technologies brought forward by the 4th Industrial Revolution.
Mission
To contribute to the development of a smart modern construction industry that is capable of dealing with the challenges of sustainability, digitalisation, industrialisation, supply chain, resilience, design, management & economics, and education, which are proactively responded to through academic, industry, professional bodies and government collaboration.

Western Sydney University Advances Solar Farm Automation Through Major ARENA-Funded Research Partnership
Western Sydney University is a key research partner in the newly funded Intelligent Modular Platform for Solar PV project led by The University of Melbourne. The project is supported by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), receiving $4.8 million in ARENA funding, with a total project value of $12.9 million.
The WSU team, led by Dr Jun Wang and Associate Professor Wenchi Shou, will work closely with industry partner UGL to develop, test and pilot advanced robotic technologies for the construction, installation and maintenance of solar farms. More than $1.6 million in cash funding will support WSU's research activities.
The project will strengthen research and industry collaboration in construction robotics, automation and renewable energy infrastructure, while supporting safer, more productive and scalable delivery of Australia’s growing solar energy assets.
