Description

This seminar brings together design and visual communications academics from the School of Humanities and Communication Arts to discuss their recent work. Greg Hughes, Dan Johnston, Leo Robba and Katrina Sandbach will discuss how their practice and scholarship contributes to and furthers sustainability and planetary health agendas, with the view to creating engaged communities in Greater Western Sydney and beyond. With discussion ranging between rivers, oceans, skateparks and space in a more abstract sense, this seminar will emphasise design research and practice-based approaches to sustainability, ecology and the importance of place. Each speaker will present a brief overview of their work before a collective Q+A addressing the writing and doing of this research and its affinities with the creative arts and humanities. Q+A facilitated by Alison Gill and James Gourley.
