The Western Sydney University Painted River Project is a multi-disciplinary academic research initiative designed to directly support a creative, practice-based community project that encourages a transition to a more sustainable future. The project seeks to move beyond the academic realm into the heart of the community as a way of integrating different perspectives and disciplines. The event and art research component will be run by Dr Leo Robba who is a highly regarded practising artist, design educator and media professional and Dr Ian Wright, a renowned water scientist who often speaks to the media on issues of water quality. The event will be held at the Pond at Penrith (Kingswood) Campus from 9.30am to 12.30pm. Participants will be encouraged to create their own artwork and there will be fun hands-on science activities. This is a FREE event, children are welcome to participate and a light lunch will be provided.
