Badugulang is proud to support the 2021 Learning Futures Showcase and Sydney City Campus Festival of Teaching and Learning, that will highlight the exciting, innovative work of our staff. This year's theme is “The Evolution of Higher Education at the technological nexus of teachers, students, employers and society.” The theme is timely as the Higher Education sector rethinks the vision of teaching and learning in 2022, as we transition out of the pandemic and debate what that looks like for Western in our very own centre of teaching and learning excellence - Badugulang. Western’s staff are responding to this change now, and this partnership event will allow the wider University community to engage and connect with their work. The program will commence with a keynote address on “Indigenous Education at Western” presented by Professor Susan Page, Director of Indigenous Learning and Teaching where she will weave together praxis, empirical research and critical reflections and illustrate ways to transform curriculum, buttress teaching and foster transformative student learning. Through four concurrent sessions, we will then highlight the exemplary and innovative current practices of our staff as they work across the areas of Alternative Credentials, Digital Transformation, and Flexible Learning, including the excellent work of some of the DVCA COVID-19 commendation winners. This will provide a platform for participants to debate and reflect on the strategies and examples presented of how we can navigate and thrive in this challenging environment going forward.
