International Day Against Homophobia & Transphobia (or IDAHOT Day) 2018 will be celebrated by the University on 17th May. The theme for this year is “Alliances for Solidarity”. IDAHOT Day is about showing support for people to live safely without fear of abuse or violence based on their sex, sexuality or gender expression. At Western the Rainbow Flag will be raised on all campuses to show the University's commitment to the elimination of violence and harassment against LGBTIQ people and communities. All staff and students are invited to join the University’s Ally Network and Penrith Queer Collective members at Building K, Level 1 on the Kingswood Campus on Thursday 17th May at 1pm. If you can’t make it to Kingswood please meet the members of the Ally Network on your own campus to share stories and continue to promote the key messages of IDAHOT.
