If you've driven past or visited the Werrington South campus recently, you'll have noticed that the Werrington Park Corporate Centre is taking shape. On schedule to be completed early 2015, the Centre is being developed as a hub for a vibrant and connected business community that will capitalise on Greater Western Sydney's growing demand for new high-tech industries and "knowledge" jobs.

The University is aiming to leverage current relationships and partnerships, particularly in the Computing, Engineering, IT, Mathematics, Humanities and Communication Arts, Science and Health areas.

The Office of Commercial and Estate Development (OCED) encourages UWS staff to identify businesses or partners whose tenancy within the Werrington Park Corporate Centre on the Penrith campus could bring mutual benefits to the organisation and the University. If you would like to send a suggestion for a business to OCED, please contact Alison McDonagh, Senior Development Manager, 0459 847 085 or a.mcdonagh@uws.edu.au.

The Centre, a collaboration between UWS, the Australian Government, Penrith City Council and Penrith Business Alliance, is expected to generate between 350 and 400 jobs – a great outcome for Western Sydney residents who spend hours each day travelling between home and their workplace.

UWS intends to set up a Business Development Incubator at the Centre, providing an environment to grow commercial activity and start-up operations in the areas of e-health, digital media arts, and intelligent engineering. This will nurture an entrepreneurial culture in the Western Sydney region and provide a platform for UWS to engage with the business community.

It is intended that the three-storey, 5-star Green Star Office and 4.5-star NABERS-rated development will be the first stage of long-term plans for the site to become a bustling business park.
