Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Citizenship:

  • hold one of the Permanent Humanitarian visas listed under the Refugee Scholarships section on the Humanitarian Visa Classes page.

Enrolment:

  • new or continuing student

Program/s:

  • any undergraduate or postgraduate degree at Western Sydney University

Mrs Fatma Yassine

Mrs Fatma Yassine is the Mother of eight, who came as a refugee from Lebanon in 1977. She successfully raised her children in this wonderful nation of Australia and is proud to contribute to the economic, cultural and social fabric.

Mrs Fatma Yassine raised eight children, who share some 30 degrees between them in Law, Medicine, Teaching and Business.

She is a strong believer in the transformational power and importance of tertiary education, particularly for women, those who are disadvantaged, less fortunate or come from difficult circumstances.

Application and Selection Process

Applications are to be submitted through the Universities Admissions Centre. Shortlisted applicants, as determined by the UAC Equity Ranking, may be required to make a written submission in support of their application.

Continuing Eligibility Criteria

  • Recipients must remain enrolled at Western.
  • Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 4.
