Get Healthy @ UWS

Get Healthy @ UWS

Everyone is being encouraged to Get Healthy this Winter by participating in a free information and health coaching service now available to staff and students.

Developed by the NSW Government, the program offers support to help you achieve – and maintain – positive health and lifestyle changes.

UWS has adopted the program in recognition of the importance of health and wellbeing of staff and students, forming a partnership with Population Health, Nepean Blue Mountains and Western Sydney Local Health Districts.

A range of healthy lifestyle initiatives are available for staff and students, including the Get Healthy Information & Coaching Service, a free and confidential telephone-based service delivered by qualified health professionals. This service can help you to identify and achieve your goals in relation to physical activity, healthy eating and weight management.

The program is already delivering positive results for participants across NSW. Individuals who have completed the six month coaching program have reported significant improvements, including an average weight loss of 3.7kg, an overall increase in physical activity, and ongoing healthier eating habits.

UWS staff and students can choose to receive the Get Healthy information for themselves, or assist their colleagues by participating in health coaching – or both!
