Associate Professor Kath Peters


Associate Professor, School of Nursing and Midwifery


Kath graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing (Hons) in 2001 and a PhD from Flinders University of South Australia in 2006. Her Honours and PhD research focussed on women’s and couples’ experiences of infertility and assisted reproductive technology. Her research focus now extends to encompass marginalised populations, women’s reproductive health and mental health. She has expertise in all aspects of qualitative research with a particular interest in feminist methodology. Kath has attained both internal and external research funding and has successfully led multiple funded and unfunded research projects to completion. She has a track record in ensuring research outcomes with over 100 publications in peer- reviewed journals and over 50 conference presentations. Kath has supervised 8 PhD and 8 Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) students to completion and is currently providing supervision for 7 PhD students and 2 BN (Hons) students.
