Covidence – Systematic Review Software

Western Sydney University now has an institutional Covidence license. Covidence is a web-based tool that will help you through the process of screening your references, data extraction, and keeping track of your work. It is useful for researchers conducting a systematic review, meta-analysis, or clinical guideline.

R and DataCamp

R a freely available language and environment for statistical computing and graphics which provides a wide variety of statistical and graphical techniques. Find out more about R (opens in a new window)

DataCamp (opens in a new window) is a learning platform for data science and analytics offering 350+ courses in R, Python, SQL, and other data science-related software. Its learn-by-doing methodology combines short expert videos and hands-on coding exercises to help learners retain knowledge. HDR students enrolled in THRI are able to access DataCamp courses free of charge through an Academic Group. REDCap

REDCap is a secure web application for building and managing online surveys and databases, and is suitable for a broad range of research activity.

REDCap is available for all Western researchers and students, and their collaborators on research projects.

Software Workshops & Training

Dr Jeff Wang is the Intersect eResearch Analyst for WSU. Jeff delivers Intersect training courses, provides support on digital research tools (e.g. Qualtrics and REDCap), helps with research data storage, and assists with the use of Intersect’s services and resources (such as research computing with Nectar Cloud or NCI HPC). The Intersect course catalogue covers not only programming (e.g. R, Python), but also survey tools (Qualtrics, REDCap), as well as data analysis and visualisation tools like Excel. All upcoming Intersect training sessions for WSU can be found on the university’s Research Calendar and registration is free!
