Biography
Dr Olayide Ogunsiji is a registered nurse and an Associate Professor at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Western Sydney University, Australia. Her research interest focuses on Migrant and Refugee Health and she has worked closely with African Women on various health issues. Having a background in Sociology she is passionate about cultural issues and impact on health care. She has conducted a number of research projects including caring for women living with female genital mutilation and parenting experiences of African migrants and refugees. She is the President of Nigerian Association NSW and founder of African Women’s Health and Support Organisation (AWHASO), a not-for-profit support group for women’s health issues. Olayide has publications in referred and peer-reviewed journals and has presented in local, national and international conferences.
