Western Sydney University Scholarships

Undergraduate

Western Sydney University has a range of scholarships available for international students seeking admission to undergraduate programs.

Scholarships valued at $7,500, $5,000 or 50% of tuition fees are awarded on academic merit.

Vice-Chancellor's Academic Excellence Undergraduate Scholarships

Vice-Chancellor's Academic Excellence Undergraduate Scholarships are available to eligible Western Sydney International applicants. The Scholarship will cover 50% of the cost of tuition fees for three years.

Western Sydney International Scholarships - Undergraduate

Western Sydney International Scholarships offer a $7,500 multi-year or $5,000 multi-year partial scholarship to be applied towards tuition fees up to a maximum of three years.

Postgraduate

Western Sydney University has a range of scholarships available for international students seeking admission to postgraduate programs.

Scholarships valued at $7,500 or $5,000 and 50% of tuition fees are awarded on academic merit.

Vice-Chancellor's Academic Excellence Postgraduate Scholarships

Vice-Chancellor's Academic Excellence Postgraduate Scholarships will cover 50% of the cost of tuition fees for two years.

Western Sydney International Scholarships - Postgraduate

Western Sydney International Scholarships offer a $7,500 multi-year or $5,000 multi-year partial scholarship to be applied towards tuition fees up to a maximum of two years.

Master of Chinese Cultural Relations - Nexus Scholarship

The Australia-China Institute for Arts and Culture will offer up to 33 scholarships in the calendar years 2018, 2019 and 2020 for the Master of Chinese Cultural Relations (MCCR). Nexus Scholarships (opens in a new window) will provide a cost of living stipend and cover all or partial tuition fees.

Australia Awards Scholarship

The Australia Awards Scholarship is a prestigious international scholarship funded by the Australian Government that aims to contribute to the long term development needs of Australia's partner countries, in line with bilateral and regional agreements. The scholarship provides students the opportunity to study in Australia to build the skills and knowledge to promote development in their home country/region. Scholarships are mainly at postgraduate level however there is a limited number of undergraduate scholarships (country/region specific).

Scholarship Value

Full tuition fees, return home travel, establishment allowance, contribution to Living Expenses (CLE), Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), Supplementary Academic Support, air tickets for field trip (for research student only).

Application Process

You need to apply directly to the Australia Award managing office in your country/region to be considered for an Australia Award Scholarship. Closing dates vary from country/region to country/region. Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) - John Allwright Fellowship

The ACIAR Fellowships Scheme was introduced in 1986 to provide the opportunity for partner country/region scientists involved in ACIAR-supported collaborative research projects to obtain postgraduate qualifications (at the Master of Doctoral level), at Australian tertiary institutions.

Eligibility

You must be working in one of the existing ACIARY projects in a current partner developing country/region (opens in a new window). You must be citizens of the country/region in which they are working.

Scholarship Value

Full tuition fees, return home travel, establishment allowance, contribution to Living Expenses (CLE), Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), Introductory Academic Program (IAP), Supplementary Academic Support, air tickets for field trip (for research students only).

Application Process

You need to be nominated by the Project Leader who should contact the relevant ACIAR Research Program Manager to discuss the eligibility of the candidate, possible study program and the impact of a successful Fellowship award on the project.

BHP David Walker Australian Studies Scholarship

The BHP David Walker Australian Studies Scholarship has been established to encourage and assist students and young professionals to pursue specialised study, research and experience in priority areas of interest in the bilateral Australia-China relationship.

John Monash Scholarships

Each year John Monash Scholarships (opens in a new window) are awarded to outstanding graduates from Australian universities, who have demonstrated leadership skills, and have a vision for a better Australia. The Scholarship enables them to undertake Masters of Doctoral degrees at the world's best universities, towards that vision.

Fullbright Postgraduate Scholarships

The Fullbright Scholarships (opens in a new window) offer opportunities for postgraduate to undertake in the United States of America. Fullbright Scholarships are for promising postgraduate students to complete their Australian PhD; to undertake research and/or study in any field that supports a PhD; or to support enrolment in a U.S. postgraduate program such as a Masters. The Fullbright Postgraduate Scholarship supports an 8-10 months program.

China Scholarship Council (CSC) Research Scholarship

The CSC Research Scholarship is a collaborative arrangement between the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and Western Sydney University to provide high quality research training to qualified students from Chinese universities with the aim of developing research collaboration between the University and Chinese universities.

The Western Sydney University offers main round scholarships periodically each year. These rounds are highly competitive and open to both domestic and international candidates.

Project Scholarships

Western Sydney University offers a range of project-based scholarships to support higher degree students in undertaking their research. Scholarships are available to support both current and new postgraduate research candidates
