Application and selection process
No application is necessary. All new coursework applications for admission will be automatically considered for a scholarship. If you meet the scholarship eligibility criteria, your scholarship offer will be outlined in your Offer of Admission letter.
Eligibility
Scholarships are granted on academic merit recognised by Western Sydney University for admission.
Applicants must:
- be an international student from Southeast Asia and North Asia
- not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia. If your visa status changes to one of these during the study period, the scholarship will discontinue
- commence a new program of study in 2026 for the first time
- be applying to study in a CRICOS registered undergraduate or postgraduate degree program
- satisfy the academic eligibility requirements for either the $5,000 or $10,000 multi-year scholarship
- satisfy all other admission requirements and accept their Offer of Admission letter.
Applicants are not eligible if they:
- are a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency in Australia
- are a study abroad or an exchange student coming to the University
- are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree program at Western Sydney University
- do not commence study in the session and year indicated in their offer. Commencement may not be deferred
- are granted more than 160 credit points in advanced standing for undergraduate degree program or 80 credit points for postgraduate program. (Note: In the event of advanced standing, the scholarship will apply to the reduced duration of the program and will not exceed the annual value of the scholarship in any one year of full-time study)
- study less than 80 credit points to complete the program
- are applying to study a program located at Sydney City campus
- have been awarded another scholarship by the University or another organisation that covers the cost of the tuition fees (fully or partially) to study at Western Sydney University.
Benefits and Programs
$5,000 or $10,000 per year contribution towards tuition fees (up to 240 credit points or three years maximum) will be awarded dependent on your level of academic achievement in previous studies. This is available to all CRICOS registered undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, except for the following Ineligible Programs:
(a) Bachelor of Clinical Science (Medicine)/Doctor of Medicine (MD)Program; or
(b) Bachelor of Nursing
(c) Master of Nursing Practice (Pre-registration) Program
(d) Master of Research
(e) Higher Degree Research (HDR) programs
(f) Any Programs or Subjects delivered at the WSUSCC Campus and offshore campus. The scholarship is a tuition fee waiver and does not cover costs associated with living expenses, accommodation, transport, overseas student health cover or other costs associated with study.
Scholarship Conditions
Application period
Scholarships will be granted on a first-come-first-served basis until filled.
Students are advised to accept the scholarship as soon as possible in order to avoid disappointment.
