Western Sydney International Scholarships – Postgraduate

Western Sydney International is offering scholarship awards to outstanding international students enrolling in postgraduate coursework programs.

Eligibility

New international students intending to commence a postgraduate coursework program at Western Sydney University in 2018.

Awards are granted on the basis of academic merit.

Courses 

Any CRICOS registered postgraduate coursework degree.

Benefits and duration

  • A one-off $5,000 contribution towards tuition fees. The amount will be credited towards your second semester tuition fees.
  • The scholarship is a tuition fee waiver and does not cover costs associated with living expenses, accommodation, transport, overseas student health cover or other costs associated with study.

Eligibility

Selection will be based on your academic achievement in your most recent completed tertiary qualification recognised by Western Sydney University. You must also meet the academic requirements of the course you are applying to at Western Sydney University.

Applicants must also: 

  • be international students with a Higher Education Sector Visa. (Subclass 500)
  • commence a new course of study in 2018.
  • has received an unconditional offer of admission to Western Sydney University.
  • has met all admission requirements and accepted admission offer for deadline.
  • has submitted a complete scholarship application by closing date (only apply to applicants who have received an offer prior to 20 July 2017)
  • has met academic requirement for scholarship as listed below.
  • had achieved a minimum GPA of 5.25 on a 7 point scale in their undergraduate degree.

Applicant is not eligible if:

  • He/she is a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency in Australia.
  • He/she is a study abroad or an exchange student coming to the University.
  • He/she is currently enrolled at Western Sydney University and apply for a scholarship for the existing course of study.
  • He/she did not submit scholarship application and/or acceptance by closing date.
  • He/she is applying to study a program located at Sydney City campus.
  • He/she has been awarded another scholarship by the University or another organisation that covers the cost of the tuition fees (fully or partially) to study at Western Sydney University. 
  • He/she is studying a postgraduate research degree.

How to apply

No application is necessary. All applications for admission will be automatically considered for a scholarship. If you are successful, your scholarship offer will be outlined in your offer of admission letter.

If you have already been issued an offer or have accepted an offer by the University before 2 August 2017, you are invited to submit a scholarship application form here. Please note you will need to submit this application by 16 September 2017 to be considered for a scholarship for study in 2018.

Acceptance Dates

Acceptance date: 30 November 2017 unless scholarships are previously filled.
It is advised students accept the scholarship as soon as possible in order to avoid disappointment.
