To help you get around Liverpool a little easier, we’ve introduced a walking bus on Liverpool campus for interested Western students and staff. What is a walking bus? It’s a group of people forming together to walk safely from Liverpool campus to the train station.

The walking bus will leave campus 10 minutes past each hour  –  you can meet the 'bus' at the ground floor Concierge. To learn more, call Campus Safety and Security on 9165 8686.

If you prefer to bike it into uni, we have bicycle stands in the basement. There are also bicycle stands at Liverpool Train Station if you prefer to leave your bike there.

Student Support

We want to encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to study at Western. So, our Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education offers you access to a great range of services, like career advice, tutors, medical help, counselling, computers, study spaces, a kitchen and printing facilities – even opportunities to study abroad.

Call Western Sydney University Campus Safety & Security on 1300 737 003 if you have immediate concerns for your personal safety. We have  an emergency contact point on each level entry, when activated the nearest security officer is immediately deployed, while the person who raised the alarm can speak directly with security staff on campus.

If you’re feeling down or stressed, get in touch with Western’s counselling service. Our qualified social workers and psychologists have got your back.

Have a question? Throughout your student journey (from enrolments to graduations) Student Services Hub is your first point of contact for information, advice, forms and referrals to other services. For more information check the Student Services Hub webpage.

If you have a disability, chronic health condition or temporary injury, the Disability Services team can help with things like pre-admission, note takers, readers, sign interpreters, video and podcast transcripts, assistive technology, textbooks and materials in alternative formats, the list goes on.

The Student Campus Council and Student Representative Council are your voice on campus. If you have a concern or suggestion – or if you want to join – just get in touch.

If you are struggling with accommodation, financial hardship, personal issues, study related issues, matters related to student visa or if you are having trouble understanding university policies and procedures, the Student Welfare Service can help you work through it. For further information please visit the Student Welfare Service webpage.

Western's Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) offer free group study sessions facilitated by experienced students.

Campus facilities

Liverpool Campus is located in a major urban centre, providing increased transport connectivity, employment opportunities and access to retail and community amenities such as childcare.

Great food for all occasions

Studying is hungry work. There are many places to eat in the Liverpool CBD: in the Macquarie St strip, in Liverpool Westfield, in Liverpool Hospital and also various cafe gems and hole-in-the-walls throughout the city.

There are also plenty of GF and vegetarian options.

Social and Cultural Spaces

There’s always something happening on campus

Get in touch with our Campus Life Team to find out about the latest activities and events. Or drop in and give us your suggestions. We have plenty going on with a variety of trips and tours, free food and social opportunities. Head to our Campus Life Page to find out more.

The Liverpool CBD is home to a number of gyms and fitness centres including Squashlands and Crunch Gym. Additionally, there are free fitness classes run by the organisation Live Life Get Active at Bigge Park down the road from Liverpool City Campus.

Our multi-faith centre is for everyone on campus, whether you hold to a faith or not. Drop by to pray, reflect, meditate, connect with religious groups, or just take some time out.

Western has a number of on-campus men’s and women’s Muslim prayer rooms. These include Qibla-facing prayer carpets, a place for Wudu, and female prayer clothing if needed.

The Queer Room is a place for LGBTIQ peeps and their straight allies to relax, chat and find support.

If you ever need a quiet place and a sympathetic ear, pop in to see our Chaplaincy team. It’s free and confidential.

If you’re a woman or a female-identifying student, the Women’s Room is a safe place for you to study, breastfeed, attend group meetings or get involved in women’s events.
