Western Sydney is the first university in the county to commit to incorporating formal study and assessment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures in its courses, an education institution which shares with the Australian community the cultures, languages, history and contemporary experience of Australia's first people.

The University is committed to providing higher education pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and contributing to the process of reconciliation.
