Domestic students:
Apply through UAC (application fee applies) or directly via the Western Portal (no application fee).

International students:
Apply through our International Application Portal.

Different ways to get into uni

We believe in inclusivity and offer a variety of alternative entry pathways and scholarships, regardless of your starting point or ATAR.

From early offer programs such as HSC True Reward and School Recommendation Scheme, to alternate entry pathways through The College, merit-based scholarships and The Academy, there are multiple ways to reach your career and study goals.

Entry Requirements

Check the academic qualifications needed for your chosen course.

Some courses may also require additional checks, including Working with Children Checks, NSW Police Checks or other course-specific requirements.

Fees and Costs 

Most courses allow you to apply directly through Western for free. If you apply via UAC, an application fee applies. 

University fees vary by program, course level, and whether you are a domestic or international student. Find out about fees relevant to you:  

Domestic students may be eligible for a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP), with the government covering part of the tuition. Many also use HECS-HELP to defer payment. International students pay the full tuition amount.  

In addition to tuition fees, students are responsible for study-related costs, including Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF), Textbooks and learning materials, Course-specific equipment or software, Transport and parking, and Printing and on-campus expenses.
