Special Requirements

Western Sydney University medical students must comply with the NSW Health compliance process to be able to undertake clinical placements in the NSW Health. Any missing or incorrect documentation may result in delays to your commencing clinical studies.

The Placements Hub deliver a centralised student compliance process for students, with a key focus on NSW Health Student Compliance requirements and data. Please refer to the Student Compliance Resources for the compliance requirements of the Doctor of Medicine program.

First Aid Certificate

As part of the online enrolment process you will be asked to comply with the requirement of gaining a First Aid Certificate (Apply First Aid) prior to the end of Semester 1, Year 1. You must have a current first aid certificate at least until the end of Year 2 of the MD.

For more information on First Aid Certificates, please visit the National Training Information Service website (opens in new window) to check that your certificate has been issued by an approved provider.

Once you have received your original First Aid Certificate, please present it to staff in the Student Services Hub office on any campus. Once sighted by staff, your records will be updated on the student system and you can keep the original document.
