Support for Current and Previous Australian Defence Force Members

We understand that the transition to civilian and student life provides both challenges and opportunities. Western Sydney University is working to support the experience and success of all Australian Defence Force personnel studying at Western.

Are you a current or previous Australian Defence Force member looking to study?

Western Sydney University welcomes serving, exiting and reservist ADF personnel.

As part of our commitment to equity and diversity, we offer a range of services to support your experience and success as a student.

We want you to enjoy your time at Western and get the most out of your studies as you work towards your future career success.

Bonus points

In recognition of your service and unique skills, Western is offering five bonus points to your ATAR (or equivalent), increasing your selection ranking.

Student Veteran Program & Student Club

Support is available to Western students via our Student Veteran Program (SVP). The program provides students with a range of support for admissions, priority timetabling, equity such as disability, student wellbeing through counselling and mentoring, tailored career support sessions, subsidised health clinic, free psychology therapy services and more. Students are also invited to join and find their community through the Western Student Veteran Club.

Soldier On

We have partnered with Soldier On — a leading not-for-profit organisation that supports current and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members, as well as their families — to collaborate on educational and support opportunities.

Library

You can utilise Library services and resources on campus or via the website. The
