Dr Li Li
Biography
Dr Li is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre for Infrastructure Engineering (CIE), Western Sydney University, working with Professor Bijan Samali. She holds a PhD in Chemistry from Western Sydney University, where she investigated finite nano-scale metallo-supramolecular assemblies, and a Master of Science in Organic Chemistry from The University of Sydney, focusing on synthetic receptors for metal ions. With over 15 years of international experience across China, Portugal, and Australia, Dr Li has a multidisciplinary background in chemistry education, materials science, and chemical formulation. Her current research focuses on developing energy-efficient building materials using phase change materials encapsulated in industrial byproducts such as fly ash and bottom ash. In addition to her research, she has over a decade of experience as a Technical Officer and Casual Academic at Western Sydney University, with strong expertise in laboratory instrumentation, WHS compliance, and technical training. Earlier in her career, she worked as an Associate Engineer in Henan Province, China, conducting water quality assessments and environmental monitoring using advanced analytical techniques.
