Doctor Jiacheng (Fiona) Yang
Biography
Dr Jiacheng (Fiona) Yang is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Infrastructure Engineering (CIE), Western Sydney University (WSU). She received her Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) degree in 2018 and her Ph.D. in Structural Engineering in 2024 both from Griffith University. Her research expertise lies in structural fire engineering, with a strong focus on ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC). Her work encompasses spalling mitigation strategies, large-scale fire testing, the development of sustainable cementitious materials, and advanced thermo-mechanical coupled numerical modelling. From 2019 to 2022, she contributed to teaching at Griffith University. In 2019, Dr Yang was recognized with the Outstanding Contribution to Teaching Award, becoming the youngest recipient in the history of the award.
