School Recommendation Scheme

Worried you won’t have the ATAR to get you into your dream course?

If you’re a Year 12 student completing your HSC or IB, and you’re applying through UAC, the Schools Recommendation Scheme (SRS) gives you a chance to receive an early offer based on your performance in Year 11 and your school’s recommendation.

What you need to do

SRS applications are currently open but will close at midnight Sunday, 20 September 2020.

You MUST apply for your degree through UAC first, and indicate your first preference. Make a note of your UAC application number and PIN. You’ll need them for your SRS application. After you’ve applied for your degree,  submit your SRS application.

If you want to change your first preference later, the cut-off date is midnight Sunday 8 November 2020.

What happens next?

After you have submitted your application, you can view your 'Application Summary' through SRS Check & Change. Your school will give us an assessment of your academic ability, then we will assess your application.

You can edit or add Year 11 studies and upload or replace supporting documentation up until midnight Monday, 20 September 2020. You can change your course preferences up until midnight Sunday, 8 November 2020.

Your application will be made available to your school to provide assessment of your ability to perform at higher education. Western Sydney University will then assess your application taking into account your Year 11 studies and school ratings.

If you would like to receive an SRS offer from Western Sydney University you will need to list an eligible Western Sydney University course as your first preference by midnight Sunday, 8 November 2020.

If successful you will receive an unconditional offer through UAC on Thursday, 12 November 2020, (November Round 1).

If you would like to be considered for another course you can accept your first offer and change your preferences by the next deadline for another offer round. If you do not change your preferences, you will not be considered in subsequent rounds. If you do receive another offer from Western Sydney University you will then be able to choose from the offers you have been made and enrol in your preferred course.
