Master of Professional Psychology

Postgraduate Information Evenings

Postgraduate Information Evenings are held throughout the year, and give you the opportunity to meet academic and professional staff as well as ask questions about courses, admission and fees. These evenings give you a better understanding of course content and delivery, what to expect from postgraduate study as well as career outcomes.

Our May 2019 Postgraduate Information Evenings will be running between Monday 6 May to Thursday 9 May at our Parramatta City Campus. If you are interested in attending, please register below.

Make sense of who we are

Ranked in the world’s Top 150 for Psychology (QS World University Rankings), Western can give you the professional skills you need to make a real difference in the field of psychology.

If you’re a fourth-year Psychology graduate, the Master of Professional Psychology gives you a fifth year of training under the 'five plus one' model, as recommended by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) and Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).

You’ll be trained in the key areas of ethics, psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions. Emerge with an APAC-accredited qualification and 50 per cent of the requirements towards registration as a general psychologist. To obtain full registration, you will need to organise additional supervised placement hours.

To meet the need for forensically oriented psychologists in the field, this degree also addresses psychological practice within the forensic psychology domain.
