Transition to bachelor,Transition to bachelor

We’re here to support you for a smooth transition to your preferred Bachelor program.

The following process applies to the guaranteed pathways from on campus Diploma programs at The College into corresponding Bachelor degrees at Western.

You will receive an invitation to attend a Diploma to Bachelor Transition Session which is normally scheduled in Block 2 Week 4 of your second semester. At the transition session, you will meet staff from your preferred Bachelor program and you will be able to ask any questions you have about the program or your move into the second year at Western. You will receive details on the Bachelor Transition Session via your student email.

During Block 3 of your second semester, provided you have completed at least 75 credit points, and have registered in all remaining subjects for your Diploma, you will receive an email inviting you to complete the College to Bachelor Pathway Program Nomination Form in the final block of your Diploma. This is where you nominate your preferred Bachelor program from the guaranteed pathway options available for your Diploma.

Once you have submitted your nomination form, you will receive a provisional offer for your chosen Bachelor pathway, with instructions on how to accept it.

After your Diploma results are released and providing you have passed all your 10 subjects (110 credit points), you will receive an email confirming your provisional offer and what to do next.

Once you accept your Bachelor pathway offer, the full credit will be added to your student record overnight. You can find the full credit you will receive in the Enrolment Guides.

Don’t delay your enrolment

If you do not complete the College to Bachelor Pathway Program Nomination Form,  credit for prior learning won’t be transferred automatically.

Non-guaranteed pathways

If you are considering transitioning to a Bachelor program that is not listed as a guaranteed pathway, you will need to seek individual advice from the relevant School, see School Contacts.

For non-guaranteed pathways, you must submit a new application through the Western Portal and apply for credit transfer via the credit transfer form.
