Curriculum Challenges
Informed by Partnership Pedagogy (opens in a new window), in 2020, four Curriculum Challenges were announced. A fifth was added in 2021. The Challenges will future-proof existing degrees with simpler and more flexible pathways, attractive study choices and the capacity to rapidly develop and deploy new curriculum elements to complement in-degree learning.
During 2021, the five Challenges were led by eight Curriculum Champions:
- Future Thinkers: Dr Jenna Condie and Dr James Gourley
- Global Citizens: Associate Professor Brett Bennett
- Innovative Entrepreneurs: Dr Tendai Chikweche and Dr Neil Perry
- Sustainability Advocates: Associate Professor Ricky Spencer
- STEM+: Dr Mariam Darestani and Dr Chris Jones
Supported by the new Curriculum Design and Approvals Policy (opens in a new window) each Challenge team has created two distinctive and transdisciplinary 21C Minors (opens in a new window) and at least five 21C Curiosity Pods. The Curriculum Challenge teams comprise Curriculum Fellows, external partners, the expertise of visiting scholars, and student curriculum partners. Watch the recordings of the Curriculum Conversations 1 (opens in a new window) and Curriculum Conversation 2 (opens in a new window) to learn more about this exciting transdisciplinary work.
