Classic Creamy Oatmeal

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups milk (or 2 cups water)
  • Optional add-ins: ground cinnamon, fresh/frozen/canned/dried fruit, honey/maple syrup, chopped nuts, spoonful of peanut butter or almond butter, chia seeds/flax seeds, coconut flakes etc.

Method:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the oats and milk. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Once the milk begins to simmer, reduce the heat to low. Stir occasionally and let it cook for about 5 minutes, or until the oatmeal is thick and creamy.
  3. Spoon the oatmeal into bowls and add your toppings.
