Architecture at Western

Join the newest School of Built Environment in the world, and make a difference while you study and contribute to the fastest growing region in Australia. Graduates of this program will benefit from the emphasis that is placed on developing mastery of architectural design not only in theory, but firmly in practice. Work on exciting studio projects in a highly entrepreneurial interdisciplinary environment, while engaging with prominent practitioners as they guide your studies. This includes former Government Architect and current Central City Commissioner Professor Peter Poulet.

Our small class sizes will ensure you get dedicated support as you complete a design-research thesis to demonstrate your ability to think independently, critically, and to resolve complex design issues. Additional studies in urban and contemporary architectural theory, building and design technology, electives, and professional practice constitute the overall degree. Learn practical technological and professional skills but also extend your creative, advocacy, environmental and social capabilities as we help you craft the beginning of your professional journey

In Spring 2021, the program will be offered at Parramatta City Campus, in the new Engineering Innovation Hub at 6 Hassall St, Parramatta.

Applicants are required to submit a portfolio when applying to this program. Portfolio requirements can be found via the handbook.

"I enjoy the tutorials and presentations tremendously, almost as much as I enjoy researching, creating and presenting the projects. It's well delivered, very clever, I have learned so much plus its a lot of fun."

— Robert Marcs. Master of Architecture (Urban Transformation)
